Chris Blaylock quite literally grew up in the automotive business. Born in 1978, he spent his childhood immersed in his grandfather’s dealerships—on the showroom floor, in service and parts, and in the office. He sold his first car at just seven years old and was a fixture at the dealership every day after school. By the time he officially began his career in 1998, the automotive industry was already part of his DNA.
Chris gained hands-on experience across service, parts, and sales, becoming a used car manager by 2000 and later overseeing vehicle purchasing during significant industry shifts. In 2004, he graduated from the NADA Dealer Academy and went on to run Cadillac of Memphis, earning both Cadillac Master Dealer status and Standards for Excellence recognition. After the passing of his mother in 2009, he became a partial owner of the business and later increased his stake. Following his grandfather’s death in 2012, Chris continued the legacy until ultimately exiting the operation in 2020.
Since then, Chris has focused on wholesale and brokerage, facilitating the sale of hundreds of vehicles through direct sourcing and retail partnerships. Today, Bud Davis Memphis LLC operates strictly at the wholesale level and does not sell directly to the public. The company acquires vehicles for clients and places them through trusted dealer channels, including Collierville Auto Center and Mt. Moriah Auto Sales. Chris works closely with established financial partners such as Orion Credit Union, Westlake, Ally, Capital One, C&F, and Global Lending, utilizes floor planning through AFC, NextGear, and Kinetic, and sources inventory directly from major auctions including Manheim, ADESA, Openlane, Dealers Auto Auction, and AII.
Outside of work, Chris is a dedicated father to two daughters and shares his home with three dogs—Willie, Sadie, and Milo. A Jeep enthusiast since 1994, he has spent decades trail riding throughout Memphis and the Mid-South. His interests also include hunting, golf, tennis, snow skiing, scuba diving, cycling, climbing, hiking, and outdoor adventure. With more than 25 years in automotive sales and facilitation, Chris has built a career grounded in experience, integrity, and a commitment to helping others grow and succeed in the industry.
Bud Davis Memphis LLC carries a legacy that’s deeply rooted in the Mid-South automotive community. Bud Davis was widely respected as a Ford, Chevrolet, GM, and Cadillac dealer, with a career that spanned decades. He owned and operated Bud Davis Chevrolet, Toyota, and Cadillac, and opened Bud Davis Cadillac in 1975. Over more than 30 years as a Cadillac Master Dealer, he earned numerous industry honors, including recognition as a Top 100 GM Dealer, while staying actively involved in giving back through organizations like Porter-Leath and White Station Church of Christ.
Today, that same dedication to integrity, hands-on leadership, and community continues through his grandson, Chris Blaylock.
